Swedish

When you climb on the table for traditional feel good session, Swedish Massage is the most popular modality used in the west. Swedish Massage employs soft strokes on the more delicate and bony structures of the body (face, hands and feet). Medium pressure is applied over the muscle areas that retain stress (shoulders, neck) to release the superficial muscles of tension. It is a wonderful way to relax and rejuvenate your mind and body!

Deep Tissue

When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep tissue massage gets to the heart of the problem, working intensely on the muscles and connective tissues to loosen toxins, release the chronic patterns of tension in the body and help eliminate scar tissue. The focus on specific areas may cause some soreness during, or after the massage. You should feel better then ever within a day or two.

Sports Massage

Incorporates a wide variety of techniques designed to address the specific needs of athletes. These may include vigorous manipulation and assisted stretching to warm and lengthen muscles in preparation for activity as well as techniques to reduce muscle spasm and increase circulation following exertertion.

Therapeutic Massage

With a mixture of many modalities, (swedish, neuromuscular, acupressure hot stones and deep tissue) your licensed therapist will use their intuitive touch and skilled training to help you regain your range of motion and reduce your pain and/or discomfort.

Lomi Lomi Massage

This sacred healing ritual is intended to heal the mind, relax the body and soothe your soul. Long fluid strokes are used all with the pressure of the forearm being applied. The continuous nature of the strokes are designed to create a deeper sense of relaxation. The rhythmic sounds of Hawaiian music will help you drift off to a very peaceful place of calm and tranquility. Tension leaves the body easily when this level of relaxation is reached, leaving you feeling completely revitalized.

Reflexology

It has been said that the feet and hands are like energetic maps of the body. We have 7,200 nerve endings in each foot. During our reflexology foot treatment, pressure is applied to the reflex points that are related to internal organs and glands. This treatment helps stimulate normal function of the body and its organs. With this session, the feet are bathed with warm water and organic sea salt, and then they are massaged with spearmint oil. This treatment helps aid self-healing and brings about mental and physical well-being.

Lymphatic Drainage

A great percentage of the human body is made of water, in men 60 to 65% and in women 50 to 60%. Most of this is transported through your body superficially. Going from distal portions (hands and feet) through the lymph nodes, into the trunk of the body. In this movement, old proteins, dead cells, cell slough are circulated and removed through the urinary system. Lymphatic drainage is used in many modalities,. To accelerate the movement of fluid for detoxification, to rid the body of edema (do to injuries or surgery) or to retrain the lymphatic system to use a alternative set of lymph nodes due to surgical removal of existing lymph nodes. To be able to use this modality your therapist has completed over 80 hours of class room time and passed a state certification exam.

Chair Massage

This modality of massage is perfect for a person on-the-go. This treatment provides relief for the neck back and shoulders. You will receive this massage fully clothed in an ergonomically designed chair. Elbows and forearms apply pressure to acupressure points and tense muscle groups. Gentle stretching and range of motion to the arms really ensure lasting benefits. Choose the length of time that best suits your schedule, a minimum of 10 minutes is recommended, then return to your day ready to work more effectively.

The Oils I Use.

I mix my own oils using pure Organic Coconut Oil.  Because coconut oil has a natural creamy texture, comes from a plant source, and is free from pesticides and other chemicals and contaminants, it is really ideal for making body care products. Its small molecular structure allows for easy absorption, giving both the skin and hair a soft smooth texture. Just the coconut oil by itself makes an ideal ointment for the relief of dry, rough and wrinkled skin. Many people use coconut oil alone because it is safe and natural. Virgin Coconut Oil is a perfect choice for soap makers because it is 100% chemical free, and made from fresh organic coconuts. I also use Organic Aromatherapy Oils for a variety of effects.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of volatile liquid plant materials, known as essential oils (EOs), and other aromatic compounds from plants to affect someone's mood or health. The word was coined in the 1920s by French chemist René Maurice Gattefossé, who devoted his life to researching the healing properties of essential oils after a lucky accident in his perfume laboratory. (In the accident, he lit his arm on fire and thrust it into the nearest cold liquid, which happened to be a vat of lavender oil. Much to his amazement, the burn quickly healed without a scar.)
